I’m an entrepreneurial, qualified accountant and private investor with over 30 years of experience working at Director level across many business sectors, including finance, speciality chemicals, education, legal, construction and plastics.
My mission
My mission is to help businesses transform by streamlining processes and uncovering growth opportunities. Sometimes, all it takes is a fresh perspective. Whether upgrading technology, simplifying operations, or crafting a new business plan, I can provide the guidance you need to achieve your goals.
About Steve Rooms ACMA
My career saw me work across the UK and mainland Europe including France, Germany and Sweden. I also worked briefly as Finance Director for a clothing manufacturer based in Casablanca, Morocco.
In 2008, I set up my own successful accounting practice to offer a wide range of compliance accounting and business advisory services, including business planning. I’ve had the opportunity to assist my clients in securing various forms of finance, from a £26,000 extension to an overdraft facility, all the way up to a $44 million project for new student accommodation at the University of Lagos in Nigeria.
Throughout my career, I have written and overseen the creation of over 300 business plans for clients in 36 countries across North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Australasia, and even 1 in China.
Recent Work
Recently, I have ventured into private investment, acquiring profitable businesses to add to my portfolio and assisting others in achieving their own businesses. With my finance background, I bring extensive skills in business finance, process improvement, turnarounds, and financial forecasting. I am excited to expand my business portfolio by acquiring and integrating more accounting firms with my existing business. I aim to establish a group of accounting businesses with a combined fee base exceeding £3 million in the next 5 years.
Home life
Outside of my business life, I am a proud father to 5 wonderful children. I am also a passionate Liverpool fan, making it a point to support my hometown rugby league club, Hull Kingston Rovers, whenever possible. Maintaining good fitness is essential to me, so I am at the gym or the swimming pool by 5am five days a week. Whenever I have the opportunity, I enjoy playing chess and snooker, although not at the same time, of course.
